The Teaching and Leadership Center creates a model for Alternative Certification Programs and serves Broward County Public Schools as a comprehensive resource for selecting quality teacher candidates its classrooms. Through the Transition to Teaching initiative the TLC successfully developed and delivered the STAR Program (2004-2010) and continues to implement the IMPACT Program (2009-13) and Project PROMISE (2007-2012).
Wednesday
Mentoring is provided for classroom support with feedback from Mentors working through TLC. This is a coaching model for participants to receive support in areas such as instructional strategies,curriculum delivery, academic rigor, use of academic time, student engagement, and etc. TLC support is not evaluative.
